Cost & Plan Details

Solo 401(k)

Solo 401(k)s offer tax advantages, including pre-tax or Roth contributions and tax-deferred growth.

Base Fee: $540 / year

 

Setup Fee for start-up plans: $350 Asset Based Fee (Breakpoints at $500,000 and $1,000,000):   $1 - $499,999: 15bps   $500,000 - $999,999: 10bps  Over $1,000,001: 7bpsConversion Fee for plans with assets:   $1 - $250k: $500   Over $250k: $0

 
  • $150 / year

     

    Your spouse may be added and have their own account

     
  • Employee Contributions:
    • Up to $24,500 or 100% of compensation, whichever is less.
    • An additional $8,000 catch-up contribution if you're age 50 or older, totaling $32,500.
    • For individuals aged 60–63, the catch-up contribution increases to $11,250, totaling $35,750.
Employer Contributions:
    • Up to 25% of compensation (for incorporated businesses) or approximately 20% of net self-employment income (for unincorporated businesses).
Total Contribution Limit:
    • $72,000, or $80,000 if age 50 or older, and up to $83,250 for those aged 60–63. 
Once you e-sign the official Plan Documents in onboarding, it will create a retirement plan for your business. Your plan will have a curated investment lineup to select from and will NOT act like a brokerage account. Terminating the plan after signing the Plan Documents will require you to go through the official termination process which will require additional fees.
